Sutherland Global Services Sponsors National Frederick Douglass   Dialogues Tour
BPO Provider Helps Bring the Voice of Frederick Douglass to Schools Across the Country

October 15, 2009- ROCHESTER, NEW YORK

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK – October 15, 2009 - Sutherland Global Services, a leading multi-national Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the 2009 Frederick Douglass Dialogues Tour.

The Frederick Douglass Dialogues will be presented in middle schools, high schools and colleges across the country to help give students and their teachers a unique perspective on the institution of slavery and how it was abolished.

Using the Internet and their vast social networks, the Tour teaches students about the crisis of modern-day slavery, human trafficking and how they have the power to affect today’s human rights challenges. The Tour also seeks to inspire students to develop their own campaigns to stop the exploitation of trafficking, particularly of young people. There are more men, women and children today being bought, sold and enslaved than at any other time in history.

The Dialogues Tour will be presented by Kenneth B. Morris, Jr., President of the Frederick Douglass Family Foundation, who is also a direct descendant of both Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington. The Tour will visit 50 schools in 50 days and will reach more than 50,000 students and 1,500 teachers and administrators. Held Sept. 21 – Nov. 11, 2009, the Tour is making 12 stops across the country, including:

Atlanta, Ga. Oct. - 14-16
Southern California - Oct. 17-23
Northern California - Oct. 26-30
Las Vegas, Nev. - Nov. 9-11

The Tour has already visited New York, NY, New Bedford, MA, Chicago, IL, and Los Angeles, CA in September, and Rochester, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington DC earlier this month.

“With the support of Sutherland Global Services, we will be able to reach 20,000 more students and teachers than we did in 2008,” said the Frederick Douglass Family Foundation Founder and Chairwoman Nettie Washington Douglass. “We are looking forward to bringing this inspirational message to students across the country.”
